# Workspaces

> Create, switch, update, leave, or delete Custory workspaces.

Workspaces are the top-level access, billing, integration, AI memory, and MCP boundary in Custory.

## What a workspace controls

A workspace controls:

* who can see and edit the work
* which journeys live together
* which reusable [building blocks](/building-blocks) are shared
* which integrations are connected
* which billing and usage settings apply
* which AI memory and MCP scope stay together

## Create a workspace

Create a workspace from the workspace switcher.

Workspace creation uses:

* workspace name
* workspace URL slug
* optional workspace logo

## Switch between workspaces

Use the workspace switcher in the sidebar to move between workspaces.

When you switch, Custory opens the selected workspace and keeps you near the same part of the product when that route still exists in the new workspace.

Journey-specific pages do not carry over when they belong to another workspace.

## Manage workspace details

Open [**Workspace settings**](https://app.usecustory.com/workspace-settings) to manage the workspace itself.

Owners can update:

* workspace name
* workspace logo
* workspace slug
* billing settings
* usage settings
* member access

## Leave versus delete

These are not the same action.

### Leave workspace

Editors and viewers can leave from settings.

Owners cannot leave directly. Use **Transfer ownership** first when another member should take over. Custory support reviews and completes ownership transfers.

### Delete workspace

Deletion is owner-only and destructive.

When an owner deletes a workspace, Custory immediately cancels the paid billing attached to that workspace, including the base subscription and paid add-ons such as extra editor seats.
